Well if that's the case, I think I should go into a little more depth about what this other blog is about.

Currently, every time new leg wear is released, I'll be posting reviews of what it's like and how you might like to take a look yourself.

One of the most recent of these reviews was one a new brand. Yep, I write about start up brands and post of new manufacturers that I think deserve some extra visibility! The most recent post was Miss Oroblu, an absolutely wonderful new company, but I'd advise browsing their stunning collection.

I'll also be running a "15 Minutes of Fame" series, where I review a product specially, one I think you might be interested in.

Whilst tights have taken over from stockings and hold-ups in contemporary women’s hosiery – stockings were hugely popular during wartime – the debate still rages over which is better in terms of comfort, style and practicality.

Here’s a few thoughts to add to the debate:

The pin-up look

Hold-ups can be successfully worn in two ways; full-on sex appeal in the bedroom or modest and classy when out in public. We’ve noticed that a certain Disney star, Miss Miley Cyrus, has been spotted around Tinseltown in a parade of gorgeously fashionable pantyhose. Miley has been photographed in many different styles of hosiery, making it obvious that she is a huge fan of this outfit-transforming accessory.

Of all the outfit choices us ladies have to make, choosing the right pair of shoes to go with tights can be particularly hazardous. To avoid gruesome fashion disasters, set yourself a few ground rules so that once you’ve popped your tights on, picking shoes to go with them should be a doddle.

As a general rule, shoes with tights should always be kept chunky and substantial so that your feet don’t disappear. You may also want to go for shoes that are a contrasting colour with tights. Wearing bright tights with shoes shows you want to make a statement, so be brave and make it.

• Ankle boots – Although not many people’s first choice to wear with tights, ankle boots can still look good and make a statement if the tights are a contrasting colour.

I moved to a northern state from a very mild temperature state in the south. Winters in the south are never very bad and usually only have a limited time of bitterly cold temperatures. But the north is different; it gets cold and then colder and then bitterly cold for long periods of time. I didn’t own any type of tights to keep my legs warm during the winter months and had to go purchase quite a few pairs to go with my dresses and skirts.

Here in the north, pantyhose are not enough; you have to have some warmth to the leggings you put on or your toes and legs will freeze. I searched for some flannel type but didn’t find any in a dressy type; just long john type and those weren’t fashionable enough for my dresses and skirts.

Apparently it’s a pretty big business up here in Michigan because they have entire stores devoted to coloured tights and such designed especially for the winter months. I was impressed with the selection they had; every colour and size you could imagine. I bought some really nice warm ones for the winter and also some special types for formal occasions.

I have always liked wearing hosiery because they are so feminine and classy and they just make me feel pretty. The tights I bought are not so much on the classy side as they are on the practical side. It is just a part of life up here in the north to buy and wear clothes that are warm enough and still considered ok to wear to the office. All the ladies wear them because they are a necessity in the winter.

Slowly but surely I’m learning the things I need to know about living in a climate that is so different than what I’m used to. Little things, such as the kind of tights you wear, are funny little lessons I thought I’d never have to learn.

My husband and I have been married for fifteen years and frankly there was not a lot of spark left in our bedroom relationship. The tights in question are actually mentioned in the photo description, they were from a London store … it seems that all that snowing and cutting wind does wonders to inspire awesome tights design.

Since I am a queen sized short woman it is hard for me to find hosiery in the right colors that will help elongate and slim down my legs. A friend of mine told me that I should consider wearing colored tights in black, brown or nude. She said that it would help to make my legs look slimmer. This was advice that I could definitely use in my search for more flattering garments to help create the illusion of thinner legs. I was tired of looking short and stumpy in many of my dresses and skirts that I wore to work on a daily bases.

I ordered myself new tights and pantyhose in black to help with this figure problem. When the hosiery came in the post I could not wait to try them on and see if they really would make my legs look slimmer. I put them on with one of my favorite dresses and thought that they looked good on, but the true test would be wearing them to work.

The next day at work I kept on getting asked if I had lost weight. She was right, the black hosiery did give my legs a slimming affect. I could not wait to ring her on my lunch break to give her the great news. When my break arrived I rang her and all she could say was, I told you so. She then told me that also wearing stockings with vertical stripes to help elongate my short legs.
